Aida L. Carmona, age 59, of Middletown, DE, passed away in her home Monday, June 16, 2014 surrounded by family and loved ones.

Aida was born in Aguadilla, PR and migrated to Wilmington, DE at the age 12. She graduated from Wilmington High School. In 1980 Mrs. Carmona co-founded (Pena De Horeb) P.D.H. Ministries Inc., with her late husband Rev. Jose C. Carmona Sr. where she served alongside him for nearly 30 years spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to many. Never seeking public recognition, Aida loved serving others and found solace in manual labor. She lived her life working arduously behind the scenes of insurmountable amount of life transforming church activities and events that reached thousands of lives at her church in Wilmington and New Castle areas. Aida then worked as a Data Entry Administrator at Wachovia National Bank for 16 years. After the passing of her husband Aida moved to Middletown, DE and lived surrounded by family being showered with love and care. As of 2010 she became a member of Word Of Life Christian Center where all immediately embraced her. In the time she succumbed to Alzheimer's she enjoyed dancing and being around her church family, but nothing brought her more enjoyment than being with family. She will truly be missed but her legacy will stand firm for generations to come.

Mrs. Carmona was married for 38 years and together with her husband had two sons Jose C. Carmona Jr. (Rebecca), Danny Carmona, and one daughter Yomayra Carmona. Aida and her late husband adopted two sons Charles R. Butler, Hector DeJesus and one daughter Yasiris Estevez.

From their beautiful union Aida & Jose (Sr.) were blessed with 8 grandchildren: Jose C. Carmona III (Rebecca G.), Adrian E. Carmona, Alexis T. Carmona, Brianna M. Harper, Bryant D. Harper, Aaliyah Harper, Amy L. Carmona, and Kaiden K. Gaines; 2 great grandchildren, Adrian E. Carmona Jr. and Nehemiah L. Carmona. Aida is also survived by brothers and sisters: Luiz & Rosa Guzman and their daughter Yasinia Ortiz, Rosalia Padilla, Aracelio Cruz, Delia Cruz, Elizabeth De Jesus, David De Jesus, Antonio De Jesus; and a countless amount of nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.

A viewing for Mrs. Aida L. Carmona will be on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 9:30 am followed by a Life Celebration service 10:30 am at Word Of Life Christian Center, 854 Old Baltimore Pike Newark, DE 19702 www.wolcc.org.
