Albert Fredenburgh Chadwick, of the Country House, died on November 23, 2012, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Harold King and Ethel Fredenburgh Chadwick.
Al attended schools in Amityville, NY, and received his BA and a PhD in Chemistry from Princeton University
. He married Doreen Emily Young in 1942, and they celebrated their 70th anniversary on September 17th of this year.
After working for E.I. DuPont for 42 years, Al retired to become a 25-year volunteer at the Delaware Museum of Natural History, in the Department of Malacolgy. He also served on several boards and committees at the Country House.
In addition to his wife, Al is survived by a brother, Harold King Chadwick Jr.; and a sister, Constance Chadwick Galen; children Edith Chadwick Miller, Sarah Chadwick Fishback, Susan Chadwick Pokress and Peter Albert Chadwick; grandchildren Meredith Miller, Chadwick Miller, Edward Fishback, Victoria Fishback Fernandes, Matthew Pokress, Rebecca Pokress, Samantha Chadwick, and Alexander Chadwick; eight great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. His brother, Martin Chadwick, died in 1960.
There will be no services.
