Amelia L. Pratt, on Monday, June 16, 2014 went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by family at the Franciscan Health Care Center at Brackenville in Hockessin.

Amelia was born November, 26, 1924, in Maple Shade NJ, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Sevier Pelly.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, John W. Pratt Sr.; 9 siblings, Frances Kenny, Joseph Pelly Jr., Richard Pelly, Cornelia Spina, Earl Pelly, Wilfred Pelly, Edith Zeilsdorf, Elwood Pelly, and Edward Pelly.

Amelia is survived by four children; John (Carolyn) Pratt Jr., William (Alexandria) Pratt, Beverly (John) Whitton, and Lorraine (Lee) Bancroft; 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

She worked briefly for the Pennsylvania Railroad and served as a Deaconess at Glencroft Baptist Church. Amelia was an avid reader, prayer warrior, an amazing story teller as well as a skilled artist. She was a member of Living Stones Community Fellowship Church in Wilmington, DE. She loved being surrounded by her family and will be deeply missed.

A private service will be held by the family. The Pastor Jack Stretawski will officiate.
