Deeply loved and cherished by his devoted family, Anthony passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the age of 84.
Anthony was born in Tupljak, Croatia, the third child in a family of seven of the late Antonio and Emilia Ivic Kristofic. He was employed with the Carpenters Local Union 626 and retired after 55 years of dedicated service. Since his retirement, Anthony enjoyed many hobbies, including playing accordion, carving decorative ducks, making wine and gardening (he generously shared his tomatoes and figs). A devout Catholic, he was a faithful member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Anthony lived a full and happy life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
His wife of 53 years, Ann Petrucci Cristofich, passed away on December 19, 2007. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Giovanni, Feruco and Matteo.
Anthony is survived by his daughters, Lisa of Wilmington, DE and Tina Albanese and her husband, Tim of Bear, DE; his son, Tony of Austin, TX; and his grandchildren, Emily of Austin, TX and Ben and his wife, Marra of Anchorage, AK. He is also survived by his three sisters, Marija Fonovic, Anica Smilovic and Catherine Brcich and her husband, his dear brother-in-law, John; and many more loved ones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2503 Centerville Road, Wilmington on Tuesday, November 13 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Monday, November 12 from 6 -8 pm.
