Anthony F. Iwanowski, age 94, of Bear, DE, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 14, 2014.

Anthony was born in West Hazleton, PA to the late Bronislaw and Julia Iwanowski. He proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corps, 15th Air Force 97th Bombardment Group (B-17), 5th Bomb Wing, and also in the Korean War.

He was a jack of all trades, owning a bakery, flying his own PT-19 airplane, he was part owner of AE Truck in Weston, PA, was a Quality Engineer at Graver Tank, Chicago Bridge and Iron, Bechtel and was the first franchise owner of Lawn Doctor of Wilmington, then known as Auto Lawn. He could fix or do anything. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

Anthony will be dearly missed by his wife of 64 years, Margaret; sons: Barry, Mark (Suzie), Robert, Paul (Kimberly); daughters: Yvonne Jenks and Yvette Iwanowski (Dennis); grandchildren: Melissa Holdcraft (Richard), Aaron (Cherie) and Ashley (Andrew) Iwanowski; and great grandson, Jordan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 10-11 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 801 North duPont Blvd., New Castle, Delaware 19720 followed by Mass at 11 AM. Interment will be on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11 AM in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701.
