Benjamin passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 surrounded by his family in Wilmington Hospital.

He was the only child of the late Benjamin and Elsie Bremer and nephew of the late Tissie Johnson. He was an honorably discharged navy radioman on a LST in WWII. Ben retired as senior director of the claims department from Amtrak in 1988 after 38 years. He was an active member of Christ of King Catholic Church for 52 years, where he was president of parish council and was involved with the greeters, ushers, lecture and financial committees and was a Cub Scout leader. He was also a CYO baseball and football coach. Ben was a recipient of the Bishop's Award presented to him by Bishop Saltarelli. He enjoyed golf, reading, crossword puzzles and walking but most of all, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ben is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; 5 children, Jeanne Wilson (Ron), Mickey Bremer(Peggy), Mary Beth Pitcher (Brian), Tricia Strusowski (Skip) and Bobby Bremer; 9 grandchildren, Katie Furdeck (John), Michael Wilson (Yarelis), Megan V. Wilson, Bridget Wilson, Lauren Bremer, Megan E. Bremer, Brian Benjamin Pitcher, Erin Pitcher and Abby Strusowski and 2 great grandchildren, Evan Furdeck and Sebastian Wilson.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 14 from 4-6pm at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 2810 N Monroe St, Wilmington, DE 19802. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church on Saturday, February 15 at 10am. Burial will be in St. Joseph on The Brandywine Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ben's name to Christ Our King Catholic Church.
