Bruce H. Bogia
AGE: 52 • Northeast, MD
Bruce Hill Bogia, of North East, MD went with the angels at the age of 52 on June 26, 2014, giving his all until the very end.
He was born on October 21, 1961 in Wilmington, DE to Joseph and Babette (Goelzhauser) Bogia. He grew up in Newark and graduated from Christiana High School in 1981. Prior to retirement, Bruce was employed with Bear Concrete Company.
Bruce and Maria Smith Allen were married in 2007 and made their home in North East. Everyone who knew Bruce was aware of his passion for cars. From his first run down the Pushmobile track to the cars in the driveway, he was forever undoing, redoing and repainting. Our greatest wish is that God has a large garage.
Bruce will be missed by his dearly loved wife Maria; his daughter, Kelly Hunt Bogia; his step-children, Ashley, Taylor and Zachary Allen; his mother, Babette Bogia; his brothers, Edward (Donna), Curt and Paul (Tara); his father-in-law, Daniel (Jody) Smith; his sister-in-law, Danielle Blankenship (Brian); Chris Griffin and family; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many lifelong friends; and his companion kitten, "Moose", whose silly antics kept a smile on his face and laughter in his eyes.
Bruce was predeceased by his father, Joseph; sister-in-law, Kimberly Jones Bogia; and mother-in-law, M. Lynn Smith.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jamil Khatri and staff at Regional Oncology Maryland Office, the Infusion Center staff of Union Hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital and Amedisys Home Health for their loving compassion, care and concern. To all who have said prayers and sent encouragement to Bruce over the years, we will be forever grateful.
He has competed well, he has finished the race, and we pray that God will hold him in the palm of His hand.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Friday, July 11 at 10:30AM. Inurnment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may visit in the church beginning at 9:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the Zachary Allen Educational Fund, c/o PNC Bank, 101 East Main Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
