Carl Henry Jepson

Carl Henry Jepson of Chestertown, Maryland died on March 21, 2013 at Heron Point in Chestertown, Maryland. He was 91.

He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 21, 1922. He graduated Roosevelt High School January 1940. Mr. Jepson earned a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University in January of 1943, he was a member of Phi Kappa Phis, Tau Beta Pi ( President, senior year), and The American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Mr. Jepson went to work for DuPont in Research and Development in December of 1943 in Arlington, NJ and enlisted in the U.S. Navy June of 1944.

He married Maxine Perkins on March 3, 1945 in San Francisco where he was stationed at the time. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1946.

He returned to DuPont Research Lab in Arlington, NJ that same year. He was there until transfer to New Labs in Wilmington, DE in 1950. He retired from DuPont March 31, 1984. Mr. Jepson was a member of the American Chemical Society (Philadelphia Chapter) and served term as president. He was a member of ANTEC- SPE and was awarded their Distinguished Service Award in 1980. He was also a charter member of the Concord Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, DE and DuPont Country Club, from 1950 to 1993. In April of 1993 he moved to Heron Point Chestertown, MD and was a member of the Chester River Yacht and Country Club from 1994-2003.

He is survived by his wife.
