Age 94, of Laurel, DE, passed away at his home on November 18, 2012.
Charles was born in Onancock, Virginia he is the son of the late Smiley B.and Jennie F. Haddock. Charles worked for the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company after completing Business School. In December 1939 he applied for a job with the DuPont Company in Wilmington, DE. Shortly afterwards he transferred to the Seaford Plant where he
worked for 38 years as an accounting supervisor.
He proudly served his country in the Navy Submarine Service. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel. He was a Lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, the American Legion Post #19, Nanticoke Sportsman's Club, Delaware State Sportsmen's Association. Charles was an avid golfer and hunter. He was a Past President of the Delmarva Peninsula Golf Association, and the Laurel Good Samaritans Organization.
Charles is survived by his wife of 73 years Addie Haddock. His son Robert and his wife Diane, granddaughter Stacey and her husband Joel Schiller, all of Wilmington. One nephew, several nieces, and a sister Margaret Davis of Salisbury.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, at Centenary United Methodist Church 200 West Market St., Laurel, DE at 2 pm. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Joseph Burris will be officiating.
