AGE: 36 • Wilmington
Christopher Milcendeau, 36, of Wilmington, Delaware died in his home on Friday, March 7th, 2014, surrounded by family after a brief but valiant battle against brain cancer. Chris was born in Littleton, New Hampshire, and spent most of his childhood in Carthage, North Carolina, graduating from Union Pines High School in 1996.
In 2000, Chris graduated from Winthrop College with a finance degree. Chris worked at MBNA (now Bank of America) in Belfast, Maine before his career brought him to Wilmington, Delaware in 2006. It was there that he met his wife, Tracy, through an adult dodgeball league. Chris's most recent position at the Bank of America was Executive and Senior Vice President in Strategic Marketing. Chris was known for his sense of humor, his intellect, and his collection of graphic tees. He was always willing to help others, and loved spending time with his friends - usually while watching his beloved Red Sox or Patriots. He and his wife traveled frequently in search of the perfect beach. He certainly has found it now.
Chris is survived by his wife, Tracy; his in-laws Kevin and Kathy McAleenan; his mother, Tammi Milcendeau; his brothers and sisters Mike and Maureen McAleenan, Kelly and Chris Cole, and Jennifer Milcendeau; his nieces, Bridgett, Alice, and Lucy; his nephews, Brady and Logan; his two adored dogs, Jasper and Winston; and many friends whose lives were forever changed by his friendship.
A celebration of Chris's life will take place in the Baby Grand Theater at the Grand Opera House, 818 N. Market St. Wilmington, DE 19801, on Thursday, March 13th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delaware Brain Tumor Walk on behalf of Team Milcendeau, http://events.braintumor.org/delaware-brain-tumor-walk/
