Clara A. Barba, age 91, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Foulk Manor North.

Clara came to Wilmington from Hazleton, PA in the 30's working as a nanny. During the Second World War, she worked at the Pusey & Jones Shipyard welding amphibious troop transport vehicles. She worked numerous jobs over the years, retiring from Pathmark. Clara was very proud of her Polish heritage; her favorite thing to do was polka dance. She traveled up and down the Eastern seaboard attending various polka dances.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank Barba, Sr. in 1982. She is survived by her two sons, Frank, Jr. and Anthony Barba both of Wilmington; four grandsons, Frank, Nick, Eric, and Matthew; and three sisters, Rose Sekscinski of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Terry Gears of Inwood, WV, Frances Ottoviani of Melbourne Beach, FL.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, December 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthews Church, 907 W. Newport Pike, Newport, DE 19804. A visitation will begin in church at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow Mass in Cathedral Cemetery.
