Clinton Bryant Graybeal Sr.

Clinton Bryant Graybeal, Sr., 82, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully Friday, February 7, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 25, 1931 in Lancaster, PA, Clinton was the son of the late Donald and Connie (Jones) Graybeal.
Clinton joined the U.S. Air Force
in February 1948 and served his country honorably for 20 years, retiring as a Staff Sergeant in February 1968. He served three tours in England where he was awarded the Berlin Airlift Service Medal and where he met his late wife, Hilary. He was a proud member of the Burtonwood Association, which is composed of service members who served at RAF Burtonwood, England. He was also a proud member of the American Legion Post 194 of Rising Sun, MD. Clinton enjoyed Liverpool, England and visited there often. He cherished his time spent with his wonderful family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the world to him.

Clinton is survived by his loving companion, Joan Liscomb of Antwerp, NY; sons, Clinton B. Graybeal, Jr. and his wife Anne of North East, MD, Stephen D. Graybeal of Dover, DE and his companion Nina Rothwell of Elkton, MD, and David Resnick of Los Angles, CA; daughters, Kathleen R. England and her husband, Robby of Millerton, PA, Donna T. Graybeal of Rising Sun, MD, and Lisa M. England and her husband Jerry of Rising Sun, MD; sister, Virginia VanSciver of Harbeson, DE; 7 grandchildren;19 great grandchildren; and his special friends, Jack, Nan, and Dawn. Including his parents, Clinton was also preceded in death by his devoted wife of 54 years, Hilary (Brunsdon) Graybeal; sisters, Emma Carter and Peggy Bare; brother, Richard Graybeal; and daughter-in-law Marcia Graybeal.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. A Service honoring Clinton's life will be held at 10am Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene, 2626 Jacob Tome HWY, Colora, MD 21917, where family and friends may visit beginning at 9am. Burial will follow at Brookview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene Mission Program or The American Autism Society and sent in care to the funeral home.
