Darwin Morgan King passed away following a brief illness on Friday, June 13, 2014. He was 95 years old.

Darwin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a Townsend native and a member of St. John the Beloved Parish. He enjoyed being outdoors, music and summer vacations at the beach. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served our country in World War II on the U.S.S. Putnam in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed at F&F Slocomb for 34 years as a machinist and was a proud member of the United Steel Workers LU 5946 where he served as Financial Secretary for many years. After retiring from Slocomb, he worked part time for 6 years at the Bank of New York (DE).

Mr. King is survived by his 3 sons, Darwin M. King, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Forest Hill, Maryland, Dale M. King and his wife, Barbara of Wilmington and Donald M. King of Wilmington. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, Lisa Roberts, Michael Bostic, Michelle Bostic, Marisa Whitmer, Justin King, Spencer King, Saul King, Carolyn King and Liam King; and his 4 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Autumn, Joshua and Ryan Bradley. He was predeceased by his Loving wife of 50 years, Ann Gray King, daughter; Darlene Bostic and son-in-law, Danny Bostic.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Friday, June 20 at 11:00AM, where visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Darwin may be sent to Heartland Hospice, 256 Chapman Road, Suite 102, Newark, DE 19702.
