David Allan Duvall, age 84, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Parkview Nursing, Wilmington, DE.

David was born in Cleveland, Oklahoma in August 1929 to the late Emerald Rees Duvall and Clay Sloan Duvall. David graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering. David served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956, followed by the U.S. Army Reserves until 1962. Before and after his service in the Army, David worked for the DuPont Company at the Washington Works facility in Parkersburg, WV where he met his future wife Mary Bash Duvall, at the DuPont Experimental Station in suburban Wilmington, and at the Nemours Building in downtown Wilmington before retiring in 1986. In his free time, David enjoyed listening to classical music and opera, reading, and collecting egg cups.

In addition to his parents, David is pre-deceased by his wife of 50 years Mary Duvall. He is survived by his son, Allan Duvall and his wife Kristin, of Brooklyn, NY, daughter, Beth Duvall, of Columbia, MD, son, Andy Duvall, of Oakland, CA, grandchildren, Samantha and Darren Miller of Columbia, MD, and nieces Julie Romanowski Miller and Lisa Romanowski of Parkersburg, WV.
