Deborah A. "Debbie" Hancock, 67, of Wilmington, DE died on February 2, 2014 at Season's Hospice in Christiana Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was raised in Overbrook Park and Springfield, PA. She has resided for the past 17 years in Wilmington, DE previously residing in Laguna Niguel, CA. Debbie graduated from Springfield High School in 1964 and received her teaching degree form West Chester University in 1968. She was a teacher and private tutor for Garnet Valley, Penn Delco and Springfield School Districts. She also was a Commercial Realtor working with her father at Dietsch Real Estate and a Manager at Pamela's Gourmet in Newark, DE. Deborah attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Wilmington and also was a member of the Genealogy Detectives of N.E. Maryland. She enjoyed sailing in Ocean City, NJ, crossword puzzles, reading, and spending quality time with her family and her dog, Daisy.
She is preceded in death by her father, Donald W. Dietsch. Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Donald J. Hancock; mother, Geraldine Farrar Dietsch; stepchildren, Jason (Cynthia) Hancock and Elysia Ackerman; siblings, Tony (Kathy) Dietsch, Deanna (David) Crandall, Joyce (Joe) Fortunato and Pamela (Mario) Roman; 3 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday, 11:30AM at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd., Wilmington, DE. Visitation: Saturday, 10:00 - 11:15AM at the Church of the Holy Child.
