Deborah "Debbie" Ann Marker

Of Harrington, DE, formerly of Odessa, DE, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE on Saturday, August 24, 2013. She was 56.

Debbie was born on October 11, 1956, in Wilmington, DE, the daughter of the late Michael Papillo, and Elizabeth Marino of Hartly, DE. She was a graduate of Smyrna High School in 1974.

Debbie, with her husband Gregg, and their two children, Summer and MackyJoe, were a waterman family for 25 years off the Delaware Bay and marshes. Debbie was a great wildlife cook; she made homemade crab and snapping turtle soup. She was a waitress at the Boondocks Restaurant where she loved talking to other waterman and their families. She was also a hairdresser for 25 years, of which 18 of those years were in Newark before coming home to Smyrna for her last years. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed their sports and hunting activities. Her dedication to family, friends, and her pets will never be forgotten. Debbie and her family also owned 25 acres on Maryland's Eastern Shore for 10 years, where many golden memories were made.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Toni Seward; and her brother, Michael Papillo. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Gregg; her daughter, Summer Marker Blazejak, and her husband, Nate; her son, MackyJoe, and his fiancée, Jessica Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Mark and Morganne Blazejak, and Isabella Marker; her step-father, Tony; and her 2 brothers, Nicky, and his wife, Missy, and Robert, and his wife, Dee.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August, 30, 2013 from 5pm to 7 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Memorial services will begin at 7 pm.
