Edward C. Hixon

Age 82, died November 3rd at Port St. Lucie Nursing and Restorative Care Center, Port St. Lucie, Florida.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and came to Port St. Lucie in May of 2012 from Dover, Delaware.

He was of the Catholic faith. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 1903. He worked for 40 years as an electronics technician at Hazeltine Electronics, on Long Island NY.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Anita A. Hixon of Port St. Lucie; his daughter, Jill Hixon of Staten Island, NY; his sister, Nora Hixon of Brooklyn, NY; step-children, Peter J. Cannata of Boca Raton, FL, Christine M. Sinatra of Commack, NY, Steven A.J. Cannata of Port St. Lucie, FL and their spouses, five step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Wayne Hixon of California.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church at 11:00 AM, on Friday, November 9, 2012. Inurnment will follow at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth.
