Elizabeth Brownlee Baker, age 85, of Richardson Park, lived a wonderful and blessed life. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on April 12, 2014.
Elizabeth was born in Wilmington, DE to James and Agatha Faulkner.
Elizabeth was a registered nurse and a proud graduate of the Memorial Hospital's School of Nursing. She was a nursing supervisor at both the Memorial and Wilmington General Hospitals for many years and later the office nurse in her husband's medical practice. For many years Elizabeth and Frank enjoyed their home and friends at Broadkill Beach.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, true love, and best friend, Frank W. Baker, Jr., MD, and beloved son William (Billy) Brownleee and step-grandson William (Gar) Baker, Jr. Elizabeth is survived by her sons David Brownlee and his wife Kathleen, Sterling (Buck) Brownlee and his wife Anna, daughter Linda Minker and her husband Gary; stepsons Frank W. Baker, III and his wife Sue and William (Gar) Baker and his wife Lori; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 17 at the McCRERY & HARRA Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway (Rt. 2 at Duncan Rd.) Wilmington, DE 19808. A funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, April 18, at 11 am, at the Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE where there will be another viewing beginning at 10 am. Burial will follow the service in the adjoining cemetery.
