Franklin Sharp Deck, Jr.

Age 66, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on June 23 at Arbors in New Castle, DE after a brief struggle with cancer.

Frank was born in Camden, NJ, the son of the late Frank and Eleanor Deck and the brother of John Deck and the late Robert Deck.

After graduating from Newark High School, Frank attended Campbell College before joining the U.S. Air Force and serving in Germany. He then attended the University of Delaware, where he lettered as a member of the golf team. He worked at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. and Dick's Sporting Goods in Newark, Pottstown, PA, and Wilmington. He enjoyed watching the Phillies and was an avid golfer, at one point playing to a zero handicap.

Frank is survived by his brother John; his uncle Walter Peters, his cousin Jeff Peters and his wife Donna; his cousin Ray Peters and his wife Sue.

Visitation will be at R. T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711 on Friday June 28, 2013 from 5-7 pm. Burial will be in a private ceremony at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contribution checks may be made in Frank's name payable to the Delaware State Golf Association Scholarship Fund and mailed to the funeral home.
