Age 68, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2013
Georgia was born in Sharon, PA to the late Steve and Despina Moscovitis. She was 1962 graduate of Farrell High School. She went on to become the first woman to earn a BS Degree in Biochemistry from Rider University. She worked as a researcher at Princeton University
and then at the Dana-Farber Cancer Center. Later she joined a start-up company, Bethesda Research Labs (Life Technologies, Inc.). The last eight years she was employed by Agilent Technologies. She enjoyed life, travel, music sports and building and fixing things around the home. Her social work included mentoring young children in the Wilmington area. What she enjoyed most however was spending time with her family and many friends.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Chrissanthi 'Chriss' Reese. She is survived by her sister, Amy Calvert and her husband Jerry and her close friend Angie Kanagalingam and her family. She is also survived by four loving nieces and nephews and four grand-nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish her memory are her four first cousins. Georgia also leaves behind her loving dog, Sophie.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday May 24, at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE, where family and friends are invited to gather after 1:30 pm. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Georgia's memory may be made to a
