Gregory B. Holley
Gregory B. Holley, 56 of Newark, Delaware passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, February 7, 2013.
Greg was a graduate of Christiana High School, class of 1974, and attended the University of Delaware and Delaware Technical & Community College. He was employed with Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics. Greg was a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge #25, where he was a past Grand Master and treasurer. He was also a dedicated member of Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company since 1978, having served as Assistant Chief and EMT volunteer. In addition, he was a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and Pipes and Drums of Delaware Valley.
His hobbies included reading, cooking, following Philadelphia sports teams, and working on home improvement projects. In his younger years, Greg enjoyed a variety of activities including spelunking, skiing, Civil War reenacting, cooking, golfing and baseball.
Greg is survived by his son, Douglas Holley; his sister, Barbara F. Ruggiero and fiancé, Michael Dubs; his brother, Robert P. Holley and wife, Susan; his nieces, Samantha and Joanna Ruggiero, and Kristen and Stephanie Holley; and his friend and former wife, Valerie Ziegler.
He was predeceased by his parents, John V. and Mary B. (Jones) Holley.
Friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, February 12 from 5-6:30 pm. Masonic Services and Fireman's Honors will begin at 6:30 pm. Interment will be held privately.
