James Earheart Jackson III
James Earheart Jackson III, 80, of Milford, DE died Friday, March 29, 2013 at home. Jim was born on November 22, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA the son of the late James and Imelda (D'Amelio) Jackson.
He attended Milford High School and graduated from Randolph-Macon Academy. He served with the Delaware State Police during the 1950's and 1960's until his retirement at the rank of Lieutenant. He then worked at PNC Bank in the Fraud Investigations Unit until his retirement. Jim was a basketball coach with the Police Athletic League and served with the Coast Guard Reserve. He enjoyed working on cars and following his favorite football team, The Chicago Bears. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Joan Porter and his first wife Irene (Davidson).
He is survived by his wife Barbara; sons James (Cindy) and Dale; daughters Susan and Carol; a granddaughter Sarah; a stepson David Ryan and his German Shepherd, Cruiser.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Perez, Dr. Wilson and Seasons Hospice for their care and compassion and the Delaware State Police for providing their support and an Honor Guard for Jim's services.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, April 3, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where friends may call from 11:30 am - 1 pm. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Rt. 113, Milford.
