James "Duffy" Reifsnyder, III

James "Duffy" Reifsnyder, III, lost his battle with Leukemia after a long and courageous seven year fight on Thursday, February 7th, 2013.

Duffy was born to Dorothy and James Reifsnyder Jr. on August 18th, 1953 in Wilmington DE. He played Softball for many years and was a big fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. He also loved to work and recently retired from the DuPont Experimental Station after 37 years of service. In addition to DuPont, Duffy loved his job working at the Home Depot.

He is survived by his children, daughter and apple of his eye Jill Lynn Reifsnyder (Kelly Dougherty), his son and best friend James "Jimmy" Reifsnyder, IV. He is also survived by his little buddy and grandson James "Little Jimmy" Reifsnyder, V, along with his sisters Judy Reifsnyder, Sharon (Ray) Ferrara and Patti (Tony) DeGirolano as well as his niece, nephews and numerous friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Himelstein and his staff, the nurses of 6B at Christiana Hospital and the staff of Seasons Hospice for their exceptional care of our father and brother throughout the long journey of his illness.

Please wear your Phillies attire and join us for a celebration of Duffy's life on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00am at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek. Funeral Services will follow the visitation starting at 11:00am.
