Leonard L. DiNunzio Jr.

Leonard L. DiNunzio, Jr.

AGE: 67 • Newark

Lenny, also known as Butch, went home to be with our Lord on April 9, 2014. Born in Wilmington to Leonard L. DiNunzio, Sr and Edna M. DiNunzio on Oct 2, 1946, he was proud to be a native Delawarean.

In his early years, he was employed as a printer. But he found his calling when he became an Animal Control Officer with the Delaware SPCA, and he was most proud of his work prosecuting animal cruelty cases.

A dedicated University of Delaware football fan, Lenny was an active member of the Blue Hens Touchdown Club. He enjoyed rattlesnake hunting, target practice at the range, riding motorcycles, telling jokes, and fulfilling requests for Uncle Lenny's Famous Lemon Cookies. Family and friends were most important to Lenny, and he never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marilou. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ski DiNunzio, his daughter, Angela Seguin and her husband, Chris, his granddaughters, Jordan and Ellie Seguin, his brother, Richard Kyle, and sisters, Frances McKewen, Mary Shaffer, Rita CiMarcone, Judy DiNunzio, and Evelyn Walls, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Toonses, Chester, and Little T.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing on Sunday, April 13 from 3-6 pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek where a funeral service will be held on Monday, April 14 at 10 am. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery
