Leroy F. Chrobot, Sr.

AGE: 89 • Seaford

Leroy F. Chrobot, Sr., age 89, of Seaford, DE passed away peacefully at Delmar Nursing Home on Saturday, February 15, 2014. He was a World War II veteran having landed on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. He fought in several battles, Normandy, Battle of the Buldge, Market Garden, Cherbourg, France and central Europe. His main objective along with his platoon was to protect "Pluto." He served our country from 1942 to 1946. Mr. Chrobot retired from C. W. Wright Construction Co after 38 years clearing right of ways. He then worked for Kaye Construction before retiring to his saw mill on Airport Rd.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Charmaine M. Chrobot Hearn of Laurel, Geraldine Campbell (Butch) of western, Pa., Vivian Chrobot Moore (Tom) of Laurel; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and his dear friend, Susie Halsey. Leroy was preceded in death by a son, Leroy Franklin "Buck" Chrobot Jr.

Funeral services will be on Friday, February 21st at 2 PM at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford, where friends may call from 1 to 2. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made to the , c/o DSI Seaford, 600 Health Services Dr., Seaford, DE 19973.
