Margaret Murray Wilson

Margaret Murray Wilson, 97 of Wilmington, DE passed away at home on April 27, 2014. She was born on School Bell Rd, New Castle County in August 1916. In 1917 she moved with her family to Old Capitol Trail, near Marshalltown. Margaret graduated from Newark High School and Goldey College. She was employed with Hercules for 36 years. She married John A. Wilson in 1948 and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage.

Margaret and Jack loved to travel, visiting many Caribbean islands, but after staying in St. Croix they returned there each winter for more than thirty years. She spent at least one week every summer in Ocean City, New Jersey, with her extended family. Margaret was a fan of Blue Hen football attending most home games and often following the team on the road.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Kate Moody Murray; her husband John A. Wilson; brothers John L. Murray and Ralph E. Murray and her sister Eleanor Murray Scott.

She is survived by her sister Helen Murray Lynam of Jennersville, PA; 10 nieces and nephews, 16 great-nieces and -nephews, and 5 great great-nieces and -nephews. The family would like to thank all those who cared for their dear Aunt Margaret in her last year, most especially Penny Mears.

Visitation will be held on Friday May 2 from 11am-12pm with a service to begin at 12pm at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway Wilmington 19808.
