Marion Ehrlinger Swanson

Marion Ehrlinger Swanson, daughter of George Frederick and Mabelle Westlake Ehrlinger, was born in Janesville, Wisconsin, on November 11, 1918, Armistice Day. Marion graduated from the University of Wisconsin
, Madison, in 1939. Marion married John Swanson in 1941 and moved to Wilmington, DE, where John worked for the DuPont Company. They moved to Corvallis, OR, in 1992.
In Delaware Marion was active in the American Association of University Women, The Skating Club of Wilmington, the DuPont Country Club, and St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She served as a Reach to Recovery volunteer for the American Cancer Society and was a charter member of the Academy of Lifelong Learning. Marion and John loved travel and discovering new natural and cultural landscapes in America and abroad.
Marion's family is deeply grateful for having enjoyed her company during her long, full, richly lived life! Marion's husband, John, preceded her in death in 2009. Marion is survived by son Fred of Corvallis; daughters Anne of Boston, and Jane and her husband, Kevin Duby, of Brattleboro, VT; and grandchildren Peter, and Lucy and her partner, Kim Crandall. Other family members include Julia, Gareth, and Megan Jones.
