Mark William Crossan Jr.(1992 - 2012)

Mark William

Crossan Jr.

Age 20, of Lewes, DE, passed away December 4, 2012 at Christiana Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Mark, lovingly known as Marky, was a family man: a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. His eighteen-month-old son was his first priority and his reason for working so hard to become the best father he could be. He loved spending time with his five-year-old niece, and her smile could brighten his whole day.

When Marky wasn't spending time with his large family, he could be found fishing, wrestling, and riding motorcycles. Marky had many friends, and he cherished all of them. He was a lover of life and music, and he could spread his joy to all around him with a simple smile.

The most amazing thing that happened to Marky was the birth of his son; he was his pride and joy. He was feisty and real to the core. Growing up, Marky knew his mother and sisters were his best friends and confidants. Marky worked relentlessly to conquer and meet all of his goals. Marky had a deep spiritual faith, that of which he spoke with his mother often. He also enjoyed bowling with his dad on Wednesday nights. Marky may have been a little brother to his sisters, but he was their protector. He looked after them and loved them.

His loving mother gave every ounce of energy into teaching Marky about faith, love, and mistakes. She taught him to rejoice in all of his accomplishments. Their earthly bond that was so profound has ended here on Earth, never lost in God's promise of eternal life.

He is survived by his son, Mark William Crossan III; his mother, Rachel Adams; his father, Mark William Crossan Sr.; his sisters, Kristy and Lauren Crossan; his niece, Kylie Crossan; grandmother Georgianna Fisher; grandfather William L. Crossan; his uncles and aunts Paul Adams and his wife Cari, Erik Adams and his wife Karla, Teddy Hinderer and his wife Rita, and Becki Stead and her husband Jimmy. He is also survived by eight loving cousins that loved him dearly. Marky is preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul N. Adams and his grandmother, Mary Crossan. Special acknowledgement to this loving aunts: Kathy Maloney, Stacy Adams, and Kay Wilson.

Friends may call on Sunday, December 9, from 6-8 pm at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808. Here a service will be held to celebrate his life on Monday December 10, at 11 am. Burial to follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank all of the people that surrounded them in their time of grief: friends, family and the staff of the Surgical Critical Care Complex at Christiana Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to McCrery & Harra Funeral Home in memory of Marky.
