Mary I. Gordon

Mary I. Gordon passed peacefully at home at the age of 89 on February 8, 2013 surrounded by her family.

Mary was born to Polish immigrants Anthony and Felicia Vischoric on October 22, 1923 in Hainesport, NJ. Mary made her home in Wilmington, DE and was employed by Pathmark until retiring in October 1985. Upon retirement she doted on her grandchildren, and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, word puzzles, and she also enjoyed crocheting. She spent her summers at Rehoboth Beach.

She was predeceased by her husband Bernard F Gordon in January 2013; Mary is survived by her (3) children, Richard B. Gordon (Kathy) of Newark, Felicia L. Bradley (Gary) of Middletown, and Deb Gordon of Wilmington. She also leaves behind (5) grandchildren, Richard B. Gordon Jr., Robert E. Gordon, Chanon (Bradley) Parlier, Heather (Bradley) Hurlock and Christopher Gordon; and (13) great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Stella Turner of Utah and Bernice Rohloff of California.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 19, 12 noon at St. John the Beloved Church. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 am at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
