Mary J. Burns, 77, of Hockessin, DE passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Wilmington, DE she was the daughter of the late Clyde Fawcett and Angelina DeVizia Fawcett.

Mary was a graduate of the Conrad High School. She worked for many years as a clerk at Wilmington Trust and went on to work at Hulliam Hall at the University of Delaware in the graduate office until she retired in 1996. She was a lifelong member of St. James Episcopal Church and past president of the PTA with the Forest Oak Elementary School, Newark, DE in the early 1970's. Mary loved to work on crafts in her home and was a volunteer delivering meals for the Meals on Wheels Organization. Mary also enjoyed her volunteer work with Good Bears of the World.

Mary is survived by her husband, John Bryans, sons; Robert P. Burns of Wilmington, Kevin Burns of Newark and James C. Burns of Wilmington. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Patrick, Amber, Madelyn, Leah, Devon and Dalton Burns, and her great granddaughter; Skyler Burns.

Funeral Services will be celebrated on Saturday, January 12th at 11:00 am at the St. James Episcopal Church, 2106 St. James Church Rd., Wilmington. Family and friends may visit on Friday, January 11th from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek. Burial will follow the Funeral Services in the St. James Cemetery.
