Michael Paul Yeatman, age 16, of Hockessin, DE, passed away on Saturday November 17, 2012 at home.
Michael was an 11th grade student at DelCastle Technical High School and was in their Culinary Arts program. He was an honor roll student who received outstanding behavioral comments from his teachers.
Michael was a hard, conscientious worker and was employed by several people for yard care. He had saved a lot of money from these jobs with plans to buy a car. Michael had great character and thought of others before himself. Not only was Michael a beloved son, but also a best friend and huge help to his parents. He was sensitive about people's needs and was active in activities promoting social justice.
Michael was a member of Hockessin United Methodist Church where he served as an acolyte. He was a student of Delaware Hapkido Martial Arts Academy with a Blue Belt. He had a passion for cooking and spent hours watching cooking videos and preparing gourmet food for his family and neighbors. Michael enjoyed fishing and physical fitness activities including the P90x workout. He was an avid Eagles fan and loved watching them play.
Michael will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his parents, Chuck and Bonnie Yeatman; his brother Chad Yeatman; paternal grandmother Barbara Yeatman; maternal grandparents Joe and Liz Tindall, and many uncles, aunts, cousins and his niece.
A Celebration of Michael's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday November 24, 2012 at Hockessin United Methodist Church, 7250 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin. Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin. Interment will be private.
