Milton A. Taves PhD
Milton A. Taves of Hockessin, DE. Age 87 passed away quietly in his sleep March 20th, 2013 day, at Christiana Hospital.
Milt was born August 14, 1925 in Aberdeen, Idaho, to Henry and Louise Taves. The family moved to Salt Lake City Utah where he grew up. He attended the University of Utah and MIT where he earned his PHD in Chemistry before joining Hercules Powder Company, a chemical company with world-wide operations headquartered in Wilmington, DE, beginning as a research chemist and later as a research manager at Hercules, Inc. until his retirement in 1980.
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching the Eagles and spending time with family and friends. He loved working in the yard and traveling with his wife Kathleen.
Dr. Taves was preceded in death by his parents and brother Henry. He is survived by his wife Kathleen of 25 years, a son Don Taves and his wife Cathy of Denver, Colorado, a daughter Marsha Paulson of Vancouver, Canada, three step sons, Anthony, Richard and David Phelps and step daughter Barbara Chambers, 11 grand children and 2 great grand children.
Services will be private. A celebration of his life will be scheduled.
