Nick Phillips, beloved husband of Angela, passed away Sunday Nov. 4, 2012 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston TX, after a brave and hard 2.5 year fight against Leukemia (AML), and where Nick was proudly participating in their Moonshot program to eradicate cancer in 20 years.
Nick, age 49, was born and raised in Seaford DE and graduated from University of Delaware. He enjoyed a successful career as a master salesman and sales manager of government software solutions.
Nick left behind family and friends who loved him dearly; his family: Irene Snow, Bill Phillips, Nina Phillips, Natasha Miller, and the extended Pupo family, and friends: Lawrence and Kris Diehl, Mike and Jen Johnson, Bob and Maureen Parker, Curt and Kris Roberts, Frank Yocum, Pat and Loretta Ward, the dodge ball team led by Maria Sawczuk, ex-Hansen buddies and many others.
Nick liked to say he was a unique and funny guy. He was that as well as a genuinely optimistic, athletic, confident and caring guy who always had a smile on his face, lived life to the fullest, and loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends - especially at the beach. He also loved golf, baseball, Phillies, Eagles, Ravens, skiing, sports, music, concerts and traveling. Nick led a full and happy life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
For those that wish to make a donation in Nick's name, our preferences are to Be the Match bone marrow registry, Johns Hopkins Leukemia Research (c/o Dr. Mark Levis), MD Anderson Cancer Center (moon shot program), Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
