Paul J. Marsilii
AGE: 55 • Newark
Paul J. Marsilii, age 55, from Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 18, 1958 in Wilmington, DE, Paul was a graduate of St. Mark's High School. He worked as an electrician for Local 313 and later for Amtrak from which he retired in 2004 - his dream job was to work on the trains. Paul loved to cook and found pleasure in sitting around the dinner table enjoying food and the company of family and friends. He also enjoyed listening to music, attending concerts and shared his appreciation and love for music with his children.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of twenty years, Paula (Ziomek) Marsilii; their children; Rebecca Marsilii, Kathryn Marsilii and Anthony Jesson; grandson, Gabriel Felz; his mother, Regina Marsilii; his brother, Joseph A. Marsilii, Jr. (Peggy); his sisters, Jeanmarie Beiriger (Mark), Eileen Marsilii and Diane Rizzo; and many extended family members and friends. Paul's father, Joseph A. Marsilii, preceded him in death. Over the past fifteen years, Paul's dogs: Kaley, Ginger and Jules provided comfort and joy as his constant companions.
Paul's family would like to thank the University of Pennsylvania's heart transplant team and the generous family whose loved one gave Paul the opportunity to live the last 10 years of his life so he could enjoy watching his grandson Gabriel grow up. They would also like to acknowledge the doctors and nurses of Christiana MICU and Seasons Hospice. Lastly, they would like to thank Dr. John O'Neill who cared for him tirelessly through the years.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 11:00am. Committal services will be private.
