Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother, age 79, passed away on November 5, 2012. She grew up in Wilmington, DE, and raised her family in Collingdale and Glenolden, PA.
Phyllis graduated from P.S. DuPont High School in Wilmington, DE in 1952. Where she was very active in school sports. Upon graduation, she worked for DuPont Company in Wilmington, DE for 10 years as a teletype operator and secretary. She also worked for Sultzer Calendar Company in Clifton Heights, PA for many years.
She married Bob Leinhauser in 1961 and moved to PA. They shared 48 years of marriage at the time of Bob's death. She remained in PA until her death.
Phyllis was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Phillies, Eagles and Sixers on TV. As a child, she roller skated at Governor Printz Skating Rink. She also bowled at Sharon Hill Bowling Lanes for many years. She liked to knit, crochet, sew and do cross stich. She was an excellent cook. Phyllis spent time as a Cheerleading Coach for the Collingdale AC and was a Girl Scout leader.
Phyllis had a love of the beach. This love began at an early age. She shared her love of the beach with her family, eventually owning her own place, in Rehoboth Beach, with her husband Bob. Phyllis was happy at the beach with her family. She loved the many activities the beach had to offer. Fishing, crabbing, swimming, visiting the boardwalk and simply relaxing in the sand.
Phyllis had many interests, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Family get togethers were frequent. She loved when the family would come together for Sunday and holiday dinners.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday eve from 7 to 9 pm and again on Friday after 9 am at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood followed by her service at 10am Monday. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Soulas (husband Stephen) of West Chester, PA. Son, Randy Leinhauser of Wayne, PA. Three grandchildren, Karly and Nolan Soulas and Shane Leinhauser.
