Priscilla C. "Covington" Smith, age 83, of Newark, DE, born in Whitehaven, MD, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. "Cil" was defined by her absolute devotion to "Eddie" and their five girls. Mrs. Smith worked as a secretary for the State of Delaware in the Quality Control Division. Prior to that, she worked as a secretary at Haveg Chemical Company. Priscilla loved to solve cryptograms and crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church where she sang in the church choir for many years. Priscilla also enjoyed aquatic aerobics and traveling.

Priscilla is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Edward A. "Hector" Smith; five daughters, Christina S. Krieger & husband Richard, Alissa (Piner) Prososki & husband Gary, Kimberlee A. Bradley & husband Michael, Loraine (Lindell) Crimian & husband Michael, and Margaret L. Dodson & husband Oliver; sister, Marguerite "Deedie" Bands; grandchildren, Tina and life partner George, Lee & wife Brandee, Jacki, Jonathan, Ted Jr. & wife Carrie, Sara, Benjamin, Michelle and Debbie; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Patrick, Camby, Madeline, Logan, Michael, Matthew and Sydney; sisters-in-law, Susan & husband Eugene Beachboard and granddaughter Kate, Doris Smith, and Elsie Smith; beloved friends, George & Lyn Whitehead; also surviving are many loving cousins and friends and her faithful dog, Cody. Priscilla is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Vida (Taylor) Covington; and sister, Emily Griffin.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, February 18, 2014 in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a service in celebration of Priscilla's life at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park. The family greatly appreciates the love and many prayers offered by our extended family and friends.
