Richard "Dick" Hite, 77, passed away Friday February 21 of complications from the flu. He was born in Roaring Spring, PA March 1, 1936 to Alvin and Esther (Garber) Hite.

He graduated from Juniata College with a degree in education and later received his Master's in Education. He taught math for over 35 years. He continued his passion for teaching by tutoring up until his death. He was a charter member of Skyline United Methodist church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and "The Skyliners". He also coached softball and volunteered with Meals on Wheels as part of the many activities he enjoyed with his church family. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Phyllis (Diehl) Hite, his son Douglas and wife Theresa (Spangler) Hite, his sister-in-law Barbara Ross of Texas, and extended family and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at Skyline United Methodist Church, 3100 Skyline Drive Wilmington, DE., 19808 on Thursday, February 27th, at 7PM. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dick may be sent to the church.
