Robert G. Rosenberg

Robert G. "Bob" Rosenberg, age 80, of Dagsboro, DE, formerly of Bethany Beach, DE and Bethesda, MD, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE.

Bob was born in Galesburg, Illinois son of the late, Glenn and Florence (Hatch) Rosenberg. He was a graduate of Galesburg High School. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After the war he served with the US Coast Guard. Bob was a retired Metro Police Officer in Washington, DC. After his retirement with the Metro Police he worked in the Real Estate/Property Management Industry for many years.

He was a volunteer at the Indian River Coast Guard Station in Bethany Beach, a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and a lifetime member of VFW Mason-Dixon Post #7234 at Quillen's Point in Ocean View. Bob was also past commander of American Legion Post#28 in Beltsville, MD as well as a longtime member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bethany Beach.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan G. Rosenberg. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Pauline M. Rosenberg; a son, Kurt Rosenberg of Ocean Pines, MD; a granddaughter, Tiffany Rosenberg of Millsboro, DE; two brothers, William Rosenberg of Galesburg, IL and Lawrence Rosenberg of Fort Ashby, WV; a sister, Sandy Waggerman of Branson, Missouri.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6th from 4:00n to 6:00 p.m. at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd, Ocean View, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Garfield Parkway in Bethany Beach followed by a burial at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
