Rodney R. Harvey, 82, of North Wilmington, died suddenly on May 10, 2014.

Rod was born in Jersey Shore, PA, the only child of Frank and Lou Harvey. Rod graduated from Dickinson College with a Bachelor's degree in biology. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, during the Korean War. Rod started his career as a financial advisor 47 years ago with the former Laird, Bissell & Mead Company, which ultimately became Morgan Stanley. An Episcopalian, he was a longtime member of St. David's Church, Brandywine Hundred, where he volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, served on the Vestry, and headed the church's Day School Board for 12 years.

Rod is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jane N. Harvey; and their 2 sons, Jarod N. Harvey (Kumiko) and Seth W. Harvey.

A service in thanksgiving for Rod's life will be held at 1pm, Saturday, May 24 at St. David's Episcopal Church, followed by an informal reception in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring the memory of Rodney R. Harvey by sending a contribution to St. David's Episcopal Church, 2320 Grubb Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810.
