Samuel W. G. Hudson, age 83, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Compassionate Care Hospice at Saint Francis Hospital.

Sam was a United States Army Veteran and had retired from the DuPont Company as Employee Relations Consultant in 1983. He was an avid supporter of the Marksmanship discipline and a long- time member of the Delaware State Skeet Shooter's Association, Hall of Fame inductee, and winner of the General Fred Vetter Award for Skeet Shooting. Sam was an Austrian-American Society Scholarship Committee Member and active Alumni member of the Haverford College Scarlet Sages.

Sam is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret; daughter, Susan of Lone Jack, MO; son and daughter-in law, CAPT (USN, RET) Jim and Lauri Hudson of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Amanda and Chloe Hudson of Virginia Beach; sister, Dorothy R. Densk of Geneva, NY and her children, John R. and Matilda Densk and Deidre E. and Stephen Bush; sister-in-law, Rosemarie L. Schirrmacher, and her children, Karen Schirrmacher and Walt and Kelly Schirrmacher and their children, Katie and Kurt.

A gathering will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 5 to 5:30 P.M., with a Memorial Service to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE. Final resting place will be in the family plot at Purchase Meeting, New York.
