Susannah "Sue" Wilson

Susannah "Sue" Wilson passed away on Saturday December 15, 2012, after a long and heroic battle against cancer. Sue was born on June 24, 1950 in Wilmington, DE, and was a long time resident of the Bellefonte area. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Wilson and Dorothy (Berridge) Wilson, and by her uncle John. Sue was survived by a host of cousins, close friends and also her loyal four-legged ribbon-winning canine companions at home: Ceilidh, Tika, Dazzie, Chico and her cat Rosie.

Sue was a 1968 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, and received a Bachelor of Arts and Masters degrees from the University of Delaware. She was a Spanish teacher for 40 years, 37 years of which were at Ursuline Academy. Known for her dedication to her students, Sue was also the senior class moderator at the Academy for many years. She volunteered her time mentoring students in Spanish, advising students on career choices, and as a coach for various sports teams in her early years at the Academy. She also traveled frequently to Spain, often taking students on tours, introducing them to the culture of the country.

A special thanks to the 6B and ER staff at the Christiana Hospital, and Lucy and Denise at Comfort Keepers.
