Theone A. Frangos

Theone Andrianopoulos Frangos, 91, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones on Friday, January 18, 2013.

Theone was born in Chicago, IL, to Alex and Effie (Danos) Andrianopoulos and grew up in Eddystone, PA. She was a graduate of Chester High School. In 1946, she married Anthony Frangos; together, they lived in Ohio, Florida and Delaware.

Theone was a retail sales manager for Sears. After retiring, she moved to Pompano Beach, FL, where she worked for Luria's.

She was an excellent homemaker and cook, and was especially known for her Greek pastries. Parties and holiday gatherings at Theone's home always culminated with the furniture being moved aside and Greek dancing until the wee hours. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Daughters of Penelope, Philoptohos Society, and Order of the Eastern Star.

Theone was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and her sister, Constance Kakaroukas. She is survived by her brother, Peter Andrianopoulos, her nieces and nephews - Nick Kakaroukas, Georgia Kakaroukas, Alexis Andrianopoulos and Anthony Andrianopoulos - five godchildren, her sister-in-law Faith Andrianopoulos, numerous cousins across the United States and Greece, and many friends. Her passing leaves a large void in the lives of all who loved her, but we will be comforted by the memories we keep in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N. Broom Street Wilmington, DE 19806 on Thursday, January 24th, at 11am. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808 on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm. Trisagion service will be held at 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, 111, W 11th Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, or to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
