Thomas B. Fleming, fondly known as "Bud", age 86, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully in his home, with his wife Dorothy by his side on Wednesday, June 4, 2014.

Born in New Garden, PA on June 18, 1927, Bud was a son of the late Alfred Fleming and Elva Haggerty Pierce. He was employed by Capital Bakers, Ralston Purina and several other companies during his career. Most recently, Bud worked for Artesian Water as an inventory controller, retiring after 13 years of dedicated service.

He was a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church. Bud enjoyed golfing at Cavaliers and trips to Rehoboth Beach. He and Dorothy spent many happy times together in both Delaware and Key West, FL during their 61 years of marriage. Bud was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his step father, Harry Pierce, brother, Al and sister, Marion. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Sweeney Fleming; sons, Glenn Fleming (Stephanie) and Dale Fleming; 5 loving grandchildren, Shawn (Carolyn), Kate (Matt), Megan, Patrick and Carli; sisters-in-law, Josephine and Annie; brother, Wayne; several nieces and nephews; former daughters-in-law, Joanne and Gina; and his first great grandchild whose arrival is eagerly anticipated in mid-June.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday morning, June 13, 2014, at The Chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where family and friends may visit from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bud's name may be sent to the , 399 Market Street, Ste. 102 Philadelphia, PA 19106 or to the Hope Lutheran Church, 230 Christiana Road, New Castle, DE 19720.
