Thomas Paul Jordan, 71, of Middletown, formerly of Orinda Drive, Middleboro East, Wilmington, passed away Wednesday August 28, 2013. Tom was born in Wilmington the son of the late Joseph Paul Jordan and Madeline (Destaffany) Jordan. Tom graduated from Salesianum School in 1961 and soon after enlisted in the Army
where he was assigned and served in 3D Missile Battalion 59th Artillery. He went on to marry his wife Nancy (Rini) Jordan in 1969 and together raised a family of four daughters. Tom retired from General Motors
after 30 years of service in 1996. Tom enjoyed several things in life, but his most favorite was Christmas and family vacations. Tom would spend days decorating the outside and inside of his house with Christmas lights and sculptures. Everything and anything would continue to dawn the front lawn even if it had to be held together with duct tape. Soon, as sons-in-laws entered the family, they were enlisted for the tedious job of finding the one burnt light bulb that made the entire strand go out. Memories of Tom will also be cherished by his family during vacation times when he would spend countless hours just sitting and watching people come and go in front of the motel room and enjoying every minute. Tom's hobbies included watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies as well as coloring with his colored pencils and books.
Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy of 44 years; daughters Dawn Tobiason and her husband Robert of New Castle, Gayle Harrigan of Wilmington, Nancy Hayes and her husband Robert of Wilmington and Tammie Jordan and her fiancé Lee Jester of Bear; his brother, Michael Jordan of Lewes; and his grandchildren, Madalyn, Stephanie, Emily, Karly and Colin.
