Tim K. Madison
Tim Kelly Madison, 57, died February 23, 2013, at his home in Newark, DE, after many years of declining health.
Tim was born in Des Moines, Iowa, son of Robert and Phyllis Madison. He grew up in Ankeny, Iowa, where he developed a life-long love of reading, music, and photography. After high school, Tim served several years in the U.S. Army
as a photographer. In 1980 he moved to Newark, where he lived the rest of his life. A graduate of the University of Delaware, he worked in a number of different business ventures in the Wilmington area over the years. He loved to travel whenever he could, seeking out odd and unusual places to visit. He was a member of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Laura "Willie" Oehl. He is survived by their daughter, Aurora Madison of Newark, DE; sons Austin Madison of Elkton, MD and Arlan Madison of Newark, DE, and their mother Judith Sherman; sister Trena Madison, of West New York, NJ; brother Todd Madison (Marisa) of Denton, TX, brother Ted Madison (Diane) of Saint Paul, MN, two nieces, two nephews and many other relatives and friends around the country.
Funeral services will be held at St. Nicholas' Episcopal Church, 10 Old Newark Rd., in Newark on Wednesday, March 6, where friends may call at 10 am with the service to begin at 11. Interment will be directly following the service at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Madison Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide for his daughter Aurora's education. Donations may be sent to St. Nicholas Church, 10 Old Newark Road, Newark, DE 19713.
