Walter George Hambrecht, Sr., age 88, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013.

Mr. Hambrecht was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and held as a POW in Germany for 10 months. He had owned and operated Walt's Amoco Station, Bensalem, PA.

Survivors include his children, Alice Erickson-Maguire and husband, Ron, Barbara Hambrecht, all of Chesapeake City, MD, and Walter G. Hambrecht, Jr. and wife, Peggy, Bristol, PA; grandchildren, Richard Zoeltsch, and his sons, Vance Zoeltsch and Gavin Zoeltsch, and Heidi Hambrecht, and her daughters, Alexis Hambrecht and Madeline Jester; and great-great-granddaughter, Isabella.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013, at the Perry Point Veterans Administration Hospital Chapel, Perry Point, MD 21902. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921.
