William V. Quinn

Age 81, of Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly at Christiana Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 30, 2013.

Born in Wilmington, DE to the late Fred L. and Ruth N. Etter Quinn, Bill served his country proudly in the US Navy from 1951-1955. After his military service, he worked for Delmarva Power for over thirty-five years as a shift supervisor. Bill is predeceased by his oldest daughter, Deborah Burchfield.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years, Romaine (Miller) Quinn; two daughters, Kathleen Cottone and her husband, Paul of Yardley, PA; Cynthia Curry and her husband, Roy of Wilmington, DE; two sons, Mark Quinn of Wilmington, DE; Bill Quinn and his wife, Donna of Bear, DE and one son-in-law, Chuck Burchfield of Newark, DE. Also surviving are nine devoted grandchildren and one great grandchild. Bill is also survived by one sister, Myrtle Geist of Wilmington.

After retiring, Bill enjoyed traveling with his wife, Romaine. A kind and loving man, Bill will be missed for his wisdom and his good-natured political debates, as well as his gentle humor.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 LIMESTONE ROAD, WILMINGTON, DE 19808 on Thursday evening, April 4 from 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 5 at 11 am at St. Matthews Church, 3 Curtis Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19804. Interment will be private.
