Frankie Lee Tipton Sr.

Age 61, of Oxford, PA passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Neighborhood Hospice, West Chester, PA.

Born in West Chester, PA he was the son of the late Adgie and Nancy Rice Tipton.

Frank was the husband of Wilma Roten Tipton with whom he happily shared 43 years of marriage.

As President and owner, Frank established the Tipton Trucking Company, Inc. in October 1976 in Oxford. He also farmed in E. Nottingham Twp.

He received the Oxford Area Citizen of the Year award in 1997 and was instrumental in creating the Oxford Main Street, Inc.

Frank built Tipton Field for the Oxford Little League in 1990. He was well known and respected in the Oxford community and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Frankie Lee Tipton, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer; two daughters, Leona Slauch and her husband, Donald, and Stacey Tipton, all of Oxford; three brothers, Jesse Tipton of Newark, DE, Vance Tipton of Rising Sun, MD, Adgie Tipton, Jr, Newark, DE; three sisters, Jean Reardon of Elkton, MD, Shirley Quillin of Oxford, Elizabeth Strohl of Middletown, DE; and six grandchildren; Joseph Hafer, Grace Tipton, Duke Fonaroff, Austin Tipton, Stone Fonaroff and Caroline Tipton.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Woods.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 12 at the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 86 Pine St. Oxford, PA from 2 - 5 pm and Monday from 1-2 pm at the church.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Monday, May 13 at the Oxford Presbyterian Church 6 Pine St. Oxford, PA.

Interment will be in Oxford Cemetery.
