Marie Bennett Obituary
Born in Detroit Michigan, she moved to Delaware County and graduated from the old Media High School. Then worked at the Bell Telephone Co. for 33 years as a financial engineer She enjoyed painting, traveled the world and spent winters in Florida. She loved spending her time with family and friends.
Mrs. Bennett and her late husband, Charles, were the long time proprietors of Bennett's Tavern. She was also predeceased by her husband, the late Dean Deakyne. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Irene Johnson.
Survivors: 3 children, Ronald Houpt (Margaret) of Panama City, Florida, Karen Bennett (Dave) of Bear, DE, and Stephen Bennett (Margie) of West Grove, PA; grandchildren, Charles and his wife Amanda, and Alexis; 1 sister, Dolores Law of Wayne, PA and many nieces and nephews. And her companion and friend, Harry Haynes.
Service: Tuesday, 10:30 am at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St., Media, PA. Calling: Monday evening 7-9 pm and Tuesday morning 9:30-10:30 am at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home. Burial: Edgewood Memorial Park.
Contributions to Caring Hospice, 400 Commerce Dr., Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
