Nicole Shaw Obituary
Nicole Shaw (Nikki), Age 55, of Wilmington, Delaware, died on July 2, 2016. She attended Claymont High School, where she met many of her lifelong friends. She was a former Front-End Supervisor of Acme Supermarkets, where she worked for 37 years. When she was not around close family and friends, you would always find Nikki tending to her gardens and flowers or flipping through magazines.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, PFC Jonathan Edward, nephew, Matthew Hall, father, Nicholas Marino, and stepfather, John Markowski.
Nikki is survived by her daughter, Taylor, mother, Edith Markowski, sister, Donna Leslie-Pulak, niece, Kimberly Hall, nephew, Robert Leslie, Jr., and by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE, on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 12:00PM, where friends may visit with the family at the church from 10:00am-11:45am. Burial will be private.

Taylor, you don't know me, I met your mother through my shopping trips to Acme. What a wonderful, caring person she was. Always a smile no matter how her day was going and she beamed when she spoke of you and Jonathan. I missed seeing and speaking with her after the passing of your brother. I wish you and your family peace at this time and know that the two of them are watching over you.

I knew Nicki when I worked at Brandywine Hilton. She was a giggly little girl. My sister-in-law Carolyn Cushman Nesbitt was great friends with her. As well as my brother Edmund Nesbitt.We are all overcome with shock and grief at here loss. Family and friends loved this sweet little woman. We were all better for having known her.

I grew up with Nikki 2 blocks over and when we were around 10 i remember going over her house and going with her family to see the Blue Hen games and having dinner there too.
Even though we lost touch over the years with growing up and moving on with life, I would run into her at Acme and she always was very nice to me and we would talk about our families.
I am heartbroken by what has happened and have tried to think of why these things do happen to good people. I dont have an answer but to her family my heart goes out to you and your in my thoughts and prayers.

Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am that your sweet little sister has passed. I remember her laughter and the deep love and respect she always had for you, her big sister, her best friend. Taylor and family, please accept my deepest sympathies and condolences on the loss of Nikki. I knew your mom since the third grade at Maple Lane Elementary School in Claymont, we were fellow graduates of Claymont High School, and proud CHS Indians! While we went our separate ways after graduation, I always enjoyed catching up with Nikki at the various class reunions we attended. We connected on Facebook just a few years ago and she always had something nice to say about the different things we shared about our lives.
Nikki was a beautiful woman, both inside and out, and I'm very blessed to have known her and proud to call her "friend". I will miss her a lot, and please let me know if there she had a favorite charity or other organization I can make a donation to in her memory. May God keep and comfort you all during this time.
